San Diego ABC 10 News (Oct. 6, 2012) — In October 2012, around 50 women gathered in the San Diego area to share in a common bond that each they wish they didn’t have to share in. They are the spouses of Special Operations warriors killed in the line of duty since the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Education and empowerment also benefits to those in attendance. Workshops on financial management, grief, relationships, parenting and nutrition are provided in addition to empowerment speakers.

At each conference, the surviving spouses also select a local charity for a “give back” event—this year they selected the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank.
